In the Heart of the Desert

Series Remembering My Land · 2025

“Where the Desert Is”
This work is inspired by the colors, scents, and flavors of Mexico, where fuchsia symbolizes the connection to joy, strength, and courage, combining with purple to reflect the ambiguity of contrasts that inhabit the desert: the cold and darkness of night against the heat and intensity of the day.

Mixed media on linen

Unique piece

A distinctive feature of my work—though not in every piece, but in most—is that they can be displayed in different orientations: vertical, horizontal, or even upside down.

I like each person to experience the piece from their own sensitivity.
That’s why, often, I let the collector choose how to hang it, depending on what it evokes or what they need to see.

When a piece maintains balance from multiple angles, signing it becomes quite a challenge… because, where is “up” when everything can be it? :)
