A Deep, Dark Garden
This artwork is part of the series Fragments of Light and is also included in the exhibition The Language of Gesture, as it shares the same intuitive, emotional, and deeply embodied approach that runs through the entire body of work.
“Deep Garden” emerges from an impulse of intensity and presence, where painting becomes a direct extension of gesture and emotion. Created in acrylics, the work is built from the immediacy of matter, allowing the energy of the stroke to guide the composition beyond any premeditated structure.
The piece evokes the sensation of entering a deep garden, not as a place observed from the outside, but as a space experienced from within, almost absorbed by it. There is a contained force within its atmosphere, where light and shadows constantly dialogue, generating depth, rhythm, and a subtle tension between appearance and disappearance.
Like an expanded sensory experience, the work unfolds in layers of perception, where light, shadow, color, and gesture intertwine to construct an emotional rather than physical space.
