My name is Paola Milán.
I work with color, gesture, and the body as ways of exploring presence, movement, and emotion.
Before dedicating myself fully to painting, I spent more than a decade working in graphic design. That experience shaped my understanding of composition, rhythm, and visual language, but painting remained the place where I could work more intuitively and directly.
My practice begins with the physical act of painting. I am interested in the tension between force and restraint, movement and stillness, control and the unexpected. Layers, marks, accidents, and pauses become part of the work. I am not looking to decorate; I am looking for presence.
Over time, my practice has become increasingly connected to movement, awareness, and a more conscious relationship with time. For me, painting is both a process of discovery and a way of listening.
Alongside my studio practice, I create spaces and experiences where art can become a means of connection and creative exploration.
I live and work in Madrid.
